[en] Filtering problems concern the estimation of noise-interfered variables. The Kalman filter provides the linear Mean Least Squares estimation, combining the evolution of the variable with the observations obtained. Moreover, it is a recursive process, and consequently the storage of information is needed at all times. The
main applications are found in a wide range of fields such as finance, wireless communications or GPS systems.
