| dc.description | [spa] Hostis-hospis 2.0 es un documental interactivo que investiga ¿cómo se articulan la hospitalidad y la hostilidad dentro de la sociedad alemana cuando se encuentra con personas desplazadas a causa de conflictos bélicos buscando refugio en este país? Toma como base los recuerdos grabados en la memoria de mis abuelas, acerca de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y de los primeros años de la postguerra. A través de sus testimonios subjetivos se intentan evidenciar las conexiones entre sus experiencias de hospitalidad y hostilidad de entonces y las que se dan hoy en día entre los ciudadanos europeos y las personas desplazadas por conflictos bélicos que salen de sus países de origen y buscan refugio en Europa. Se propone recordar vivencias del desplazamiento forzado, en las que resalta la necesidad de un gesto de hospitalidad hacia el “otro”, planteando la toma de conciencia de la hospitalidad recibida, como potencial para cambiar la relación binaria aparentemente inamovible que se ha establecido entre la condición del “uno-mismo” y del “otro”. La forma de documental interactivo permite al espectador navegar a través de las capas, realidades e imágenes que conectan mi memoria familiar con una realidad colectiva. La herramienta del documental interactivo con presentación en la web fue elegida, ya que permite acceder a un grupo amplio y diverso de personas a estos recuerdos personales sin la necesidad de un espacio expositivo físico. | |
| dc.description | [eng] Hostis-hospis 2.0 is an interactive documentary that delves into the question: how are hospitality and hostility articulated within German society? What happens if members of that society collide with people displaced because of war conflicts seeking refuge in this country? The project is based on the memories of my grandmothers about the Second World War and the first years of the postwar period. Through their subjective testimonies, I try to show the connections between their personal experiences of hospitality and hostility at that time and those which are happening nowadays in Europe. I want people to recall experiences of forced displacement, in which the need for a gesture of hospitality toward the “other” is evident. I wish to raise the awareness of the fact, that when hospitality is received, it can potentially change the apparently static binary relationship between the condition of “oneself” and the “other”. The interactive structure of the documentary allows the viewer to navigate through the layers, realities and images that connect the memory of my famiily with a collective reality. The visualization of the documentary on the web was chosen because it allows a big and variegated group of people to access these personal memories without the need of a physical exhibition space. | |
