Abstract

Taking into account the large number of Information Science databases, this study compares and evaluates Library and Information Science Abstracts and Google Scholar. The aim of this study is to help out the Biblioteca X to decide which data base suites better with the organitzation at this moment of time and to compare the differences and similarities offered by these two databases. The study comparison is structured in two main parts and an additional one for complementary analysis. Furthermore, the analysis includes a description of its uses and services and a comment regarding the final conclusion. We conclude that Biblioteca X should not renew the subscription to Library and Information Science Abstracts and Google Scholar and that its users keep using Google Scholar as the main source of information search and retrieval.
