[cat] El present treball de final de grau es centra en l’estudi i la restauració de l’Aprenent, una escultura de terracota de principis del segle XX feta per Lluís Rius Costa. Es va fer necessari extreure la peça del lloc on es trobava per tal de poder-la examinar amb profunditat. Un cop es va tenir fet, es va comprovar que tenia unes degradacions molt característiques que van comportar fer simultàniament diversos estudis i el procés de restauració, les conseqüents anàlisis i proves. La recerca que s’ha dut a terme ha estat encarada a comprendre l’autor i la seva obra, així com de la tecnologia utilitzada per a la construcció de la peça.
Els tractaments aplicats es presenten en el mateix ordre que es van realitzar. Finalment s’estableixen les conclusions del treball a les quals s’ha arribat després de tot el procés, no sols de restauració sinó també d’estudi. |

[eng] This final degree project focuses on the study and the restoration of l’Aprenent, a terra-cotta sculpture from the turn of the century made by Lluís Rius Costa. It was necessary to extract the piece from its location in order to examine it in depth. Once it was extracted very characteristic degradations were found on the sculpture . These degradations required various studies to be done on the statue at the same time the statue was being restored. The goal of the research was to understand the sculptor and his work, as well as the technology used to build the piece.
The applied treatments are presented in the same order in which they were carried out. Finally, the conclusions reached after the entire process, not only after the restoration but also after the various studies, are established. |
